Ji Shin Martial Arts

Ji Shin Martial Arts aims to make vulnerable groups feel as strong as possible, both mentally and physically. This is done through resilience training, which can be specially adapted and medically and scientifically substantiated.

     1.        What is your value proposition?

Ji Shin Martial Arts provides resilience training to improve the physical and mental resilience of vulnerable target groups.

Ji Shin Martial Arts complies with SDG goal 3: Good health and well-being.

2.        What is your mission?

Our mission is to improve the physical, mental and social health of vulnerable people.

Vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, people with a disability or people with a chronic health condition, deal with more physical and mental problems, such as a lowered self-image, reduced self-confidence, reduced social participation, lower muscle strength and balance problems. At Ji Shin Martial Arts, we want to reduce the physical, mental and social problems in these target groups with the help of specially adapted and medically and scientifically substantiated resilience training.

 3.        How did Mercator Launch help you?

During the IMPROVE program, Mercator Launch helped me to create a solid business plan. I have come to a better understanding of the focus my company should have and I learned a lot about market research and connecting my product to the target group. In addition, the individual coaching sessions have given me insights into all matters involved in starting my own company, such as legislation and regulations and financing.

4.         What are the future plans for Ji Shin Martial Arts?

Our goal is to be able to organize a resilience training for more than 100 people every week. And we want to introduce 50 new students to the training each year, by offering them a short introduction course. We want to do all this in our own training accommodation. In addition, we want to train 10 teachers throughout The Netherlands every year to provide resilience training to vulnerable target groups all over the country.

     5.      What do you need to make this happen?

To turn this dream into reality, we are looking for funding for the renovation of our training accommodation and we are applying to (scientific) subsidies for the development of our resilience training and education programs.

6.        If you can give one piece of advice to future entrepreneurs, what would it be?

Let other entrepreneurs inspire you and learn from each other.
